Dr Ayse B Cinar: Strategy building and resilient leadership development underpinned by coaching techniques

Session on 24 November 2020 11:30 UTC - View on timetable

Session

Are pre-COVID-19 coaching approaches for business viable? We will explore this question in depth during the workshop.

The post-Covid era is defined by the process of `Recover-Rethink-Reprioritize- Reimagine` leading to paradigm shifts in every profession, and coaching is not exclusive. As the COVID-19 crisis has unfolded, businesses need to rethink about their customer experiences, value propositions, go-to-market strategies, and operations to maximize the performance, profit, and customer and employee satisfaction.

They also need to focus on redesign of workplaces and workforce while keeping the employees motivated and engaged.

All process can be called as ‘reimagination of business’, referring to reshaping business. Successful reimagination requires redesign and allocation of resources by implementation of specific strategies with a tomorrow mindset in organizations.

Resilient Leaders (RLs) are the `strategists` who reinforce the critical shift from `today` to tomorrow` mindset in teams. RLs navigate uncertainties by the Covid-19-related market and societal shifts, and they seize them as an opportunity to grow. They anticipate what success looks like at the end of recovery—how their business will thrive in the long term—and then guide and empower their teams to develop an outcomes-based set of strategies to get there.

RLs can not only be defined with what they `what` and `how` to do; but also with essential qualities of who they are. Two of these 11 essential qualities are being coachable/coaching and developing self and others. How can we, as coaches, facilitate and empower resilient leadership development through assessing the triad of Strategy Building-Resilient Leadership-Being coachable?

Learning outcomes

The anticipated common outcome for me and participants will be `Learning-Action-Growing` together through a joyful and fruitful `one hour` journey.

At the end of this session, participants will specifically be able to:

  • Better assess the current business environment and new strategy patterns for the business
  • Understand why Resilient Leadership is the key for recovery and success at the post-Covid-era
  • Deploy modified and new coaching techniques to facilitate and enable the synergistic interaction of Resilient Leadership development and Strategy Building
  • Better assess why `self-Resilient Leadership development` is the start point to successfully coach others for Resilient Leadership.
  • Have insights to how to practice ‘self-Resilient Leadership development’
  • Surprise by hearing `what is coming next after the Covid-19′

At the end of this session, I will specifically be able to:

  • Learn what my colleagues are experiencing at the post-Covid-era, with insights to their challenges, ‘take-aways’, and ‘expectations’
  • Network with the participants so we all together build a string community to support and help others to build a fairer, healthier, and more sustainable future from `this crisis`
  • Learn more about what businesses are experiencing at the post-Covid-era, with insights from my colleagues.
