Ana Paula Nacif: Coaching in groups - there is power in numbers

Session on 24 November 2020 11:30 UTC - View on timetable

Session

Group coaching can be an impactful way to support our clients to effect change. It can be beneficial in a number of scenarios and contexts, from health and career coaching, through to leadership development in organisations.

This coaching approach can also be a crucial tool to support cultural and organisational change, as well as being cost-effective and scalable. Empirical research in this area is still limited but there are good examples of how group coaching has been successfully delivered in a range of settings.

In this roundtable discussion, we will explore:

  • The benefits of coaching in groups
  • The impact of working in groups in organisational settings
  • The challenges for coaches wanting to adopt this approach
  • Training needs for coaches and supervisors working in groups.

Learning outcomes

This session will help us:

  • Gather views on group coaching
  • Better understand training and supervision needs
  • Discuss the challenges in working with this coaching approach.
